Yarns of Many Colours

A range of beautiful coloured English Fine Cottons’ yarns is now available for crafters and makers.

Three Bears Yarn has launched a range of more than 40 gorgeous shades of high quality yarns, all spun and dyed in Britain.

The Three Bears Yarn company is run from our partner manufacturer Blackburn Yarn Dyers’ dye-house, in Lancashire. The brand is a firm favourite among knitters, weavers and crocheters around the world.

The best quality

Available in an impressive spectrum of carefully selected shades, the compact spun yarns are made from 100% Supima (Superior American Pima), which is a premium variety of Extra Long Staple (ELS) cotton.

General manger at BYD, Anthony Green, said: “The range has generated much excitement and lots of interest.

“We’re really proud to be able to offer such a high quality product. Especially a product that’s not only made in Britain, but also made by two North West manufacturers.”

BYD used DyStar high performance reactive dyes to produce all the shades in the range.

Fruits of our labour

Our general manager, Andy Ogden, said: “It’s been exciting to see our yarns dyed in such a striking range of colours.

“After so many months of preparation and test production here at Tower Mill, it’s always rewarding to see a finished product.

“We’ve had so much support from British crafters and independent knitters and weavers. We’re very pleased they can now resource English Fine Cottons yarns.”

English Fine Cottons is continuing to work with BYD on other projects.

Currently, we’re adapting the range of shades and creating a palette ideal for fashion designers looking to source British-made products.

And, we’ll be launching this range in the next few weeks.

The knitting and weaving yarns are currently available in a variety of folds.  A line of yarns suitable for crocheting will be added to the range in May.
